Swabhiman Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, a microfinance institution in Nepal, has announced that it will not distribute any dividend to its shareholders from the profit of the last fiscal year.

The company’s board of directors, in a meeting held on January 23, decided to skip dividend distribution due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on its operations and financial performance.

The company also decided to submit its financial reports to the Nepal Rastra Bank, the central bank and the regulatory authority of the financial sector, for approval.

The company, which offers microfinance services to rural and urban poor, has a paid-up capital of Rs 1.10 billion and a reserve fund of Rs 1.01 billion. The company works in 12 districts of Nepal, with 67 branch offices and two sub-branch offices.
